New Ideas

Happy Boston Marathon day to everyone and congratulations to all who competed.  I plan on running it next year.  Especially since I already got some experience in today's marathon, here's an explanation... I'd like to start this blog by giving a shoutout to Duncan Payne who competed today in a time of 3:34 and my mentor Tim Catoggio who finished in 2:43.  I've been giving Duncan advice for a couple months based on my experiences and what my mentor Tim told me.  I showed up to the race in boots, jeans and a sweatshirt, however, when me and my friends saw Duncan pass, we all snuck onto the course and ran for about a mile.  I'm very proud of these guys and it was a thrill to run along side my life-time friend on his big debut marathon.

On to the fundraising... We have been brainstorming some new ideas and encourage any ideas any of you may have.  We figure with three months left we shouldn't do too many events, but have some great ideas in mind.  One idea is a yard sale.  This would occur at L O C O and if any of you could give us some of your stuff that has been lying around in your place, it would be greatly appreciated.  This would most likely be in mid-late May.  Another idea would shoot for the demographic of younger crowds that we have not hit yet.  This would be a beer olympics and/or a pub crawl.  We figured that the younger people who want to have a great time for a lowe price.  The details are still being worked out but these would likely be in the summer.  Let us know if you have any ideas.

Another big thing happened this past weekend.  As we have grown familiar with the CCFA and Team New England, we get more excited about what is happening.  One of the biggest things that has happened to us is the introduction of Timmy and his mother, Kouri.  Timmy has Crohn's disease and is a six-year boy.  We have pretty much dedicated the fundraising to Timmy.  Anyways, on Saturday a few of us went to their house and met the entire family.  It was a great time and you can read more about it on the front page of this website.  We are looking to get an article about all of this and Timmy into the newspaper.  I will keep you updated on that.

I started my training for the next big race, the half-marathon, in July.  Thank you all for the support and let us know of any new ideas!
